Below is the Jefferson Borden House, which once stood on on the corner of Anawan and Canal Street close to the Taunton River and near the shore of Crab Pond. It was moved nearly a mile away, up hill, to the corner of High and Walnut Streets by William Jennings.
As for the map which shows Highland Place, if you remember I had mentioned that Highland Place was shaped like an "L". Well, as I see, and as I had forgotten, the little L shaped street was a combination of two very short streets. Highland PL. and Prospect PL. These two small lanes no longer exist and all the homes upon it were moved to other lots sprinkled along the Highland area.
