THE HATCHET will feature a piece by Sherry Chapman entited "Finding Lizzie's Birthday Hat, or Back to Newport." The same issue will contain a recipe from Bridget's kitchen for "a cake better'n those fancy fixed-up notions the swells enjoy in their fancy hotels and such."

I have been dined all over town by all my relatives and friends. One more to go!
Tonight my old high school buddy took me to Crispers. The girl behind the counter asked if it was our first time there. My friend said no, and I said yes and my friend piped up it was my birthday. The young lady, who was attractive wholesome redhead, said "Oh it's my birthday in a week!"
My ears perked up. I asked, "July 19?" because that is one week from me. She said yes. I said "Did you know that is Lizzie Borden's birthday?" and she said "Yes!" I said "did you know she was thought to be a redhead?" She said "no."
Later I told my friend that we use the arrest record for Lizzie's official description: no red hair on her!
(My friend had red hair too, BTW. )
So we had just been talking about Lizzie and I'm taken to a restaurant I'd never been and immediately find out my cashier has Lizzie's birthday! What are the odds?

I've been to eat at Forbidden City- sesame chicken.
Cheescake Factory- Portabella Mushoom sandwhich and cheese kek
Little Saigon- pork and egg on vermiccelli noodles with fish sauce
Crispers- Club sandwhich (I never eat bacon but once a year so that was my bacon fix).
Saturday will probably be back at Forbidden City because my friend is coming in from out of town and she is willing to drive 90 minutes if she can eat there!
Crispy Beef anyone?
Thank you all for your best wishes! After Saturday it's diet time again!

Mmmmm, sounds like you had some tasty eats for your birthday week! What kind of cheese kek did you have, just plain ol' or something fancier? I've only eaten at the Cheesecake Factory by me a couple of times as its sooooooooo crowded every night of the week.

It was regular cheesekek until the bottom.
At the bottom there was a thin layer of raspberry fruit.
Then the crust was chocolate crumbly and there were white truffles buried within the crust.
Oh and on top was a 3" high mound of whipped cream.
And my name was written in chocolate syrup around the plate edge.

Kashesan--nice to see you post. You've been missed.
Love that picture of your cat. I am so not into cute little kittens...but I just love the reality of full-grown cats.
Did anyone seen some of the articles on the 33-lbs. cat living in China? I thought I had had a big cat with a large Angora who hit 27 lbs!
This isn' t off topic. It's just cats for Kat week!

O.K.
I just thought maybe there was a Lizzie convention & I missed out hearing about it.
Is there any such thing as a Lizzie Pow-Wow yearly or every now & then ??

Matt, "chez" is a French preposition that can mean several things.
In this case "chez Lizzie" is referring to that chamber of horrors known as 92nd street.
In other words: "Lizzie's house."
