Thank you, Kat and Harry. Actually, it was a celebration that started on Tuesday and just ended tonight on Sunday. My fiance and I took the train up to Anaheim and went to Disneyland for 3 days, we had a blast! We met these little twin girls that were just so cute in the pool at the hotel and played and swam with them, my sweetie is so good with kids, they just adore him! We had dinner with my twin on our actual birthday, Friday, then Saturday we went out with a few people for drinks and dinner to celebrate. And today we got together again at a house party with a few more people who couldn't make it Saturday night to celebrate all over again, theres plenty of cake left over, any takers?

Thank you all! It was the best birthday week I've had in awhile! The only bad thing was the birthday present I had to buy for myself the week before, a root canal, talk about expensive! I can happily say that all the horror stories I heard about them were wrong, I didn't feel a thing whilst getting it done, the only pain was to my credit card, yuck! But, the Endodontist I went to was extremely handsome and gentle, that was nice. Now I still have to go in and get a crown done, ah, the joys of getting older.

Thanks, Haulover, thats very sweet.
I'm glad to hear that you're being productive, something for The Hatchet? And keeping tabs on the goings on here. Nice to know that you're in the wings.
Thanks, Doug65oh. Yes, it is pretty ironic, but, I'm happy to report that I just finished with the bad part of the crown work today, the grinding and the molds, etc. Now I just have to go back to get my permanent crown in about 2 weeks and can be finished with the dentist for the rest of this year, woo hoo!

Hi Susan and all the gang,
Susan, I am so embarassed it took me this long to wish you a Happy Birthday
But I really do!! It feels like we're all one big family, and it's interesting how many of us have interesting parallels. In fact, you and I, Susan, got engaged not to far apart in time from each other. One reason I've not been so active on the forum is that we are planning for our wedding -- to take place on Oct. 23 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario--yes, the home of the Shaw festival. My fiancee and I at one point half-jokingly considered honeymooning at Lizzie's, but I'm afraid that would be too much even for me!! I think if I were Andrew's son he would have disowned me--we have just bought an apt in NYC (Don't even ask the price) and the people from whom we bought it are staying there till mid-OCtober (paying us rent). But that means we have to get married, take a quick honeymoon, and move all at the same time. Oh, and I just started a new job! It's quite a lot to pay for all at once, and Andrew would have had a fit. I think we're just going to stay in Canada for a few days in a small cottage for a honeymoon. Also, re: tooth crowns--I've had permanent crowns on several molars for a while. One day, while eating (of all things, I'm from Atlantic City) salt water taffy, one of my crowns came off embedded in the taffy. My sweetie said, "Oh just throw that thing away." But something told me to wrap it in a plastic bag. Thank God I did, because my dentist said that saved me hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars!! They do fall off after about five years, but they are easily replaced, so don't ever throw away a crown!! Also, remember how both Andrew and Abby had several false teeth (according to the medical examiner's report)? I wonder if they were implanted in their jaws? Anyhow, sorry to run on like this, I guess I'm just pretending I'm at the cocktail hour of your birthday party, and am chatting away.
Anyway,
All the best to you!
Robert Harry

Hi, Robert Harry! Great to hear from you with such wonderful news! Ah, NYC, how exciting, nothing like a walk through NYC on a crisp, autumn day, I do miss it sometimes. Whereabouts in NYC is your apartment, uptown, downtown, SoHo, NoHo, etc? Congrats again on your engagement and impending nuptials! My sweetie and I haven't set a date yet, but, in time, being engaged is a big step for the both of us and we're enjoying it while we can.
Ooo, I didn't know that crowns fall off after a certain amount of time?!
I was warned about not eating sticky things like caramels and taffy and the like. I'm wondering if dentists normally just pop the crown off and recement it for you over time or do they just wait for it to fall off? Yuck.

Thanks for all the support, dear Bordenite friends. We are on the Upper East Side (near 80th St. and York Ave.) THere's a real nice promenade along the East River, Carl Shurz Park, and Gracie Mansion (the official home of the mayor--but our present billionaire mayor doesn't live there) nearby. My fiancee and I used to be real "village/downtown" types, but we have become spoiled by our quiet neighborhood. It's great knowing that you can go anywhere in town you like and then come home for a quiet night's rest!! I was about to ramble on some more, but then I got this great idea--People are always telling me I should write a book when they hear my life story. I was thinking--what if we all wrote a volume--"People who Love Lizzie" From what I have learned of many of you, we all seem to be quite interesting people!! --Oh, Susan, don't worry about the crowns. My dentist said it is normal for them to come loose, but I only have had the one come off. Most of them stay pretty secure. It's a very simple procedure if you happen to lose one, they just re-glue it. I am truly thinking more about writing, but I will wait till after our wedding. I really hope it will be nice weather. They've had a lot of rain this summer and I hope it won't affect the beautiful fall colors too much. Much to my chagrin, I haven't yet subscribed to the Hatchet--we are counting every single penny right now. I'm hoping I can do so and still be able to get the back issues. I don't want to miss all the good stuff I've been hearing about. Anyway, I wish I could invite you all to our wedding. Anyway, I'm hoping we can have some kind of get-together for folks from this Forum some day.
Take care everybody, and please know that I check the Forum every lunch hour!! Lizzie is the first "hobby" I've had that I never seem to tire of!!
