Lizzie In The 1920 Census

I was looking up some census records today and found Lizzie in the 1920 census. She is listed as Lizbeth A. Borden.

I believe I can make out Victoria Lincoln, but she is much further down on the page. I thought she lived only a couple of doors down from Lizzie.

I will try to provide a link to the image but my computer has been acting up recently. I would like to take a hatchet to this machine and buy a new model.

She lived farther away than she recalled, from Lizbeth.

What is that "Head-of-household" name? Baba Lincoln?

Here's Lincoln on her proximity to Maplecroft:

"I went back. And I could not believe my own eyes. For years, in perfect good faith, I had dined out on my vivid memories of having once been Lizzie Borden's next-door neighbor. I was wrong. Lizzie had lived at the near end of the next block." (A Private Disgrace, page 26)

I can't be sure but it does look like Baba N. to me.

Can anyone decipher the two column headings right next to 'relation'? They apply to the head of the family. The ones that have a definite "R" in the first column don't have anything in the second column -- but Lizzie and 'Baba' have something in both columns.

This is irrelevant to the present discussion, but I thought it was an interesting bit of trivia: Victoria Lincoln's first novel, and only mystery, The Swan Island Murders can be had for about five dollars. If you want the same book with a dust jacket it will cost $150-$300.

I just happen to have stored the headers of the 1920 census. If you can't read it, maybe it can be made bigger by "zoom?"

Kat, you are a wonder! Now I can see enough to know what they say. The two columns have the main heading "Tenure" and column one says "home [house?] owned or rented" while column two is "if owned, free of mortgages".

So, clearly, What's his Name Lincoln owns his house free of mortgages. But it looks like that's an 'M' next to Lizzie's -- meaning Maplecroft was still mortgaged in 1920?

That says "Lizbeth A. Andrew"- how did you guys find it? There's no BORDEN.
It is Lizzie tho...that's weird!
It says French Street, and her servants names are correct...
