I just spent 4 hours on WE (TV) channel watching Monster- the movie about Wuornos's killings, followed by a documentary on her life in prison and appeal and death sentence through to the penalty being imposed.
Whew! 4 hours. There were tons of commercials thru the documentary part- 5 or 6 minutes at a time. I felt like I had to hang in there to hear her final answer and see her fate. I just felt like she would have wanted that..I guess because she kept talking about conspiracy and secrets and lies.
It was quite an emotional investment. But my state did impose the sentence so the least I could do, I felt, was to watch and listen carefully.
I don't think her story reflects any pattern that would shed any light on our case here, tho. But I had to post to sort of shake off the residue. It was rather depressing. She was pretending to be calm the day before execution but once the filmaker hit a nerve, she went off. She just changed into a maniac. An angry, deluded mad woman. Wow! It reminded me of that photo of Bundy that was taken in an unguarded moment and his evil visage appeared. Not the charming smile, but the ugly killer face that was the victims' last sight.
