Ghost Hunters Series

Post by kfactor »

Next week, on Wednesday, March 19, the Ghost Hunters crew will be investigating the Clapp Memorial Library in Belchertown, MA - my home town. (Actually, they filmed in Oct. or Nov.).

My friend Doris, a lovely lady and a local historian and author, is interviewed in this episode.

I watch this show primarily for the local history aspect of it - there should be plenty of it in this episode. The Clapp library is an interesting place, (though not as interesting as the Millicent Library in Fairhaven).
However, I wouldn't want to be locked in overnight.

Tonight 8pm another showing of TAPS visit to the B&B. It's on the SCFI channel.

The episode also includes the visit to Shawshank prison.

Saw TAPS and was very disappointed. It was not very good. What did you all think?

I couldn't catch it last night but have seen it before.

No, it's not a very good show at all. They didn't seem to take it seriously.

And the comment about the gift shop was uncalled for.

I watched it and really didn't care for it. I agree the comment about the gift shop was not necessary. I got the impression they really didn't want to be there and it looked like they made LeeAnn uncomfortable. When she showed them the photos of the "mist" it seemed like they just brushed it aside.

I don't remember the exact words as I haven't seen it for a while. It was something about a house with a gift shop can't be haunted. Maybe someone can remember the wording better than that. Lee Ann would probably know. It was an unnecessary comment.

They seemed, as Lorraine said, like they weren't all that interested.

I erased it off my DVR, but basically it was something like how can it be serious if it has a gift shop. It was just not a nice thing to say & the way it was said was a bit rude.

YES - it was a lousy show! They hardly spent any time there at all. They think that just because a ghost didn't appear on their camera or say "Here I am!" on their voice recorder that the house is not haunted. All they have "proven" is that nothing showed up during the time they were there.

I think if there's any house that's haunted (and I do believe some are) it's the B & B. I've heard accounts, as we all probably have, and I think they're (mostly) true. Maybe somebody would make something up for five minutes of fame, or maybe the power of suggestion might have made somebody think they saw something when they didn't. But I think those are most likely in the minority.

YES - they did brush LeeAnn's trying to show them the photo(s) aside. I couldn't believe that! Here might be positive proof, and they couldn't have cared less.

"Oh - nothing showed up on our fancy electrical equipment the one night we spent there, so this house is not haunted."

The comment about the gift shop wasn't funny, to me. It had nothing to do with the house having activity or not. I think it was on the insulting side.

That temperature gauge they use seems pretty useless. There doesn't have to be a 'cold spot'. Sometimes there is; sometimes there's not. Do they really need a temperature gauge to tell them if a spot is cold?

And all that electrical equipment they drag in a place! As I've posted before, I think that's a big mistake. It interferes in making contact. They should always bring a real psychic with them, too. (There are some good ones that help to solve crime on CourtTv's series of crimes that psychics helped solved. I think I'd look up one of those and take them along.)

If I knew my house was haunted, I would never call them. I think they do slip-shod work, not enough time is spent at a place, and I think they make elementary mistakes. The way they operate, I don't think they're ever going to find any substantial proof.

Well, I hate to disagree with everyone, but I actually LOVE the show. I've watched it since it came on. They have actually, in many cases, caught some impressive evidence. The reason they don't bring a psychic is that they are trying to do a more scientific investigation, and first try to find an explainable reason for seemingly paranormal occurences.

That said, I WAS disappointed in the B&B investigation. I was hoping they might have found something. I don't think the guys were trying to be intentionally rude to anyone about anything..and I myself didn't take it as such when I watched the show a year or two ago when it first aired. I think they actually enjoyed the investigation.

Hate to disagree, but I love those guys!

Sally G - I agree. I don't think the guys from TAPS were intentionally trying to be rude. I think they're real nice guys.

I started watching the show from the beginning, too, and liked it very much. But all the shows started feeling the same, so I don't watch it anymore.

Thank you for reminding us that their primary objective is to find a scientific explanation for phenomena they encounter.

But they also want to document proof if it does exist.

I like this season's shows since it's mainly just Jason and Grant and that annoying Brian has run off abroad with Ghost Hunter's International. I love to learn the history behind the places they investigate.
