Lizzie era not as distant as we think

Post by SteveS. »

My favorite Aunt died yesterday in Fall River. She was born and raised in Fall River. She was born in 1920. I think it's amazing that I have family that lived in Fall River at the same time as Lizzie did. We read and study this case as some far off occurence of a by gone time but there are still a few people still living that were alive when Lizzie lived at Maplecroft. Boggles my mind that I've known and talked to the same people that lived in Fall River with Lizzie. Rest in peace Aunt Florence.

My condolences on your loss , Steve. I lost my favorite Aunt Dorothy last month- it is so hard to believe she is gone. Dottie was 83. Do you know if arrangements have been made at Oak Grove? I will be there on Friday.

That's too bad SteveS. You must be extra sad that you didn't get back especially since you miss everything so much.

That generation is so cool! I have had lots of friends and neighbors who are in their 80's and 90's. Wonderful people- wonderful stories!

Thank you Shelley and Kat. My Aunt was 88 and lived a fantastic life. She was the one I mentioned on another post who sold the most war bonds and had her picture taken with the airplane in the park at Globe 4 corners. She will be buried on Friday but it will be in Bourne, up the Cape, in National Cemetary. Yes Kat, you always think there is time to go back and see everyone, but sometimes time just runs out. She will be missed.
