Leo, a pit bull rescued from Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring, now soothes cancer patients as a therapy dog in California.

You're welcome, Kat & Harry. I have always wondered what became of the dogs, now we know what happened to a little guy named, Leo!

Thanks for the information, Cindy! I hope they all are adopted into loving homes.
Steve, as for Michael Vicks, don't you think putting him in a kennel, feeding him slop, kicking him around and making him wear a collar around his neck, is a little TO GOOD for him???
That man is evil...

Too good for him, Judy? Well, not when I do the kicking!!

Seriously though, people like him need to be taken off the street permanently. Most serial killers start out killing animals (like Ed Kemper) and move up to killing children. Why does society put up with these kinds of people? I've always loved animals and to think that some people get their rocks abusing or killing animals turns my stomach. I just don't don't understand what makes some people tick.

I agree. People like Vicks, should be locked up and the key thrown away. I love animals, too - all kinds of animals. How anyone can live with themselves, after treating an animal the way he did is beyond me. I just hope none of the dogs have any lasting ill-effects due to his abuse.1bigsteve @ Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:25 pm wrote:... "These boots are made for kickin, and thats just what they'll do, one of these days these boots are gonna kick your rotten --- black and blue!!"
When I was a young boy I had a small dog who slept in my room but he wouldn't sleep on the bed like I wanted. One night I slapped him around for jumping off the bed. I tried to make it up to him by being extra kind but about a month later he was hit by a car and killed. A half-century later I still feel bad about what I did. I've never been able to get that out of my mind. I don't know, maybe that is why I am sensitive to people hurting animals today. When people like Vicks comes along my blood begins to boil. He'll get his one day!

There are a lot of things we do as kids that are lifetime lessons. When I was a kid, there was a stray cat who decided to make his home with us. He was a friendly thing and I remember one day I was twirling his tail around my finger, and broke his tail!!! His tail never did heal properly and I still feel bad about that to this day. Yes, it was an innocent act on my part, but the lasting effect is just as harsh as if I done this intentionally.1bigsteve @ Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:10 pm wrote:.... Naomi Judd said, in her book "Love Can Build A Bridge," that "she dropped a brick on her best friend's pet turtle and still feels bad about it 38 years later." I can relate to that.
When my mom died I looked back and saw many times when I could have been a bit kinder to her and now I don't have that chance. We all have regrets about our treatment of people and animals after they're gone. I guess it should really keep us all on our toes as to how we treat others. The guilt afterward can be very painful.

I agree don't let him out, keep him in there. When I read the article about how he killed the dogs and the condition the others were in, I was horrified. Poor Leo, I'm grateful that someone took him and helped him. I love his face and I just don't understand how someone can do that to a living animal. It makes me very angry and I have to say I'm glad he got caught and glad he didn't get off scott free.
