So what! Only song I remember her singing was "Girls Just wanna have Fun", courtesy of my teen-aged daughter who had the tape and blared it loud. Cindi also managed the pro wrestler, Captain Lou Albano.

I thought Lou Albano was HER manager. Then I found this Wikipedia entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Albano ... Connection

Apparantly, it was all a myth that one was managing the other. A publcity stunt.

I always liked Lauper because she was from Queens, New York, my home town.

Also, she's a very good actress. Check out her performance in the movie THE OPPORTUNISTS with Christopher Walken, another film that takes place in Queens.

Back when I watched Pro Rasslin' on the telly, I saw Captain Lou and Cindi together often. She would get into the action busting heads with chairs, fighting with other female "managers". It probably was a publicity stunt. If it was, it didn't get much publicity.

She came in my store once, when she was pregnant, maybe eight years ago. She looked around at several items and picked them up, but sadly, she didn't buy anything.

I was in Junior High when her "She's So Unusual" album came out.

My favorite is "All Through The Night". I remember that she never made a video for it, at least not at that time, so they used a combination of scenes from her other music videos.

Good GRIEF! Cindi Lauper is on "As the Stomach Turns" on NBC as I write this. She's singing "True Colors". My wife is a fan of soaps... I could care less. She looks good for being 55.

She was just on Kathy Griffin this week, down in Australia for the Pride Parade. She looked great and so happy!

Cindi went all the way to Australia? Wow, I'll bet she drove all night.

Cindi was there with comedienne Margaret Cho (I think her name is). Can you imagine those 3 together anywhere?? It was cool! They were trying on costumes and masks for the parade. Does anyone watch Kathy Griffin?
