He Hears Dead People
Is anyone interested in this new upcoming movie "White Noise?"
Michael Keaton was on Dr. Phil today talking about it.
I've seen the commercials.
The segment on Dr. Phil was supposedly 2 different real voices recorded over the air waves.
This has been studied for years- recorded voices of the dead- it's creepy, and hard to disprove. Dr. Phil, himself a skeptic, said it gave him food for thought.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie also.It looks like it will be a pretty good movie. Kind of spooky also.I haven't really researched ghostly voice recordings, but I think after watching this movie I may want to.

I saw a commercial for the movie, it looks intriguing. Is it supposed to be based on a true story? I saw the commercial while watching TAPS-The Atlantic Paranormal Society show, plumbers by day, ghost hunters by night. Anyone watch the show? Heres a link to their website if anyones interested:

Yes the tape they play is real and the man Keaton plays is the husband of the voice.
I've read about this for 20 years in The Fortean Times, a British magazine based on *The Strange.*
I've also heard some of these recordings on old TV shows on the subject.
There should be a lot of material on the phenomenon by now. (My study was before the "Net"

Yes, I am very interested in seeing that movie. I think that's one facet of the supernatural that really does exist - one that can really prove in the afterlife.
I didn't know the voice they play on the movie is REAL. Ooohh!
That stuff is scary, tho. Some show a few years ago played a tape where they placed the recorder in a known haunted basement of an inn. And this voice said very clearly, "I'm down here with Betty".
Sometimes they will put a recording device on a grave.
There are some websites I've seen where you can listen to recordings made like that.
I don't get that show you mentioned here, Susan. But I do watch "The Ghost Hunters", (Sci-Fi channel) where this crew goes out and investigates a haunting in an hour long show. They seem like they are really trying to get at the truth - they will look at something and say, "Well, that could be the light reflecting ..." or "orbs might just be a flash of light"... They look at things and see if they can be disproved first. Some things can't be. They do some of that "white noise" stuff on there, too.

I watch a lot of those shows that deal with the supernatural. I especially love the ones on the travel channel. I enjoy one called "Top Ten Most Haunted Lighthouses." and "Top Ten Spookiest Destinations". I watch anything that has to do with the supernatural.I've watched the ghost hunter show, and I have watched one on Fox Family channel where people actually volunteer to go and stay in a haunted location overnight, not sure right now what the name is.Has anyone ever seen a show on the Myrtles Plantation in Lousiana?I would love to go and stay there.I watched a program where they placed tape recorders in different areas of the Queen Mary and recorded voices.

I watch all the haunted shows too and collect "Ghosts In Photographs"- or I have in the past, I should say.
I saw the plantation show and one couple left soon after arrival, didn't they? It was the man who wanted to get out.
It looked like a beautiful place.
I collected video from TV on poltergeist activity and ghosts when they showed stuff. Somewhere here is a tape with kitchen drewers opening and closing by themselves. The Robert Stack show was a really good source for this stuff.
The Queen Mary is a good one!

EVP's
I have done EVP's for many years and have picked up voices from beyond when I go to a nearby cemetery. I usually put a hand held recorder at a grave site talk to that person walk away and come back within a 30 minute period. And at night when it is quiet in the house I listen to the tape. A couple of them say "Hey", i hear click, etc. a couple of laughing, and singing. Mind you nobody is near that site when I am recording.

See the examination of the question of electronic voices at http://www.csicop.org/specialarticles/evp.html and draw your own conclusions.
(Personally, I am 100% skeptical.)
