Forum quiet these days...how come?
Hi everyone:
I miss talking about this case! I've spent the past weekend binge-reading the old-old archives (way back from 2003) and it was wonderful to see the banter going back and forth about the details of the case, and different members theories about timing, etc.
Would anyone be interested in reviving some of these older discussions?
I know it's the same ground that has been covered before, but a fresh perspective, even with the same folks, might be thought provoking and fun!
I would really enjoy this; I'm about to make another visit to the 92 Second Street and I want to be able to re-trace my steps so that I 'relive' Lizzie's movements on that fateful day.
Anyone up for it?

Hi Nancy.
Yes, I am up for reviving some of the older discussions. I have also been reading through the old archives. I am assuming that the link you use for the archives is this one: http://tinyurl.com/pmdjkbr
I think our thoughts change over time, as we study this case; I know mine have! I think it would be interesting to see what our current members think and speculate about the Borden case.
Which topic would you like to discuss first?
BTW, I think the forum may have been quiet lately because of the Thanksgiving holiday, and now people are busy Christmas shopping, decorating, sending out Christmas cards, etc. Of course I could be wrong, but seems we go through our up and down periods at times.

Who knows what fresh eyes can bring so I would like to see old topics revived. It seems there isn't anything that hasn't been discussed with this case. I was glad to see the archives accessible again.
Now if we could see those Robinson papers. . .

Hi patsy~! Thanks for replying to me. I know, I know, I really am itching to know what is in the Robinson papers. I also wonder if anyone has transcribed the notes before the paper turns to dust. I dearly hope so.
Here's a simple question that has always bugged me, and I'd love to know your opinion (and anyone else who cares to chime in): Abby was last seen by Lizzie and Bridget at about 9:00. We assume Abby was killed after that, after she went upstairs to the guest room (where Morse had spent the previous evening.)
My question concerns Abby's movements right before she was killed, AND after: Do you think Abby was up there putting shams on the pillows of the bed, or was she sewing? Was she standing, kneeling, or sitting when she was struck with the first blow? Did she crash to the floor or slowly crumple...
Here is the archive link of a thread discussing this: http://lizzieandrewborden.com/Archive04 ... ashing.htm
Thanks!!

I hope I don’t upset anyone by answering a 7 year old thread. It’s a good question, and since Abby had facial bruises I see a possibility that she may have been struck with a glancing blow that possibly could have been the flatter part of the hatchet
My experience in fist fights, being on the losing side, is when hit hard enough, one can still stand, but literally cannot speak.
I hope this wasn’t Abby’s situation, and she never saw ,or felt her attacker.

That cracks me up and brings back long forgotten memories. I have been 'clocked' in a fist fight in over 40 years!
It certainly seems that Abby didn't put her arms up to fend off the blows or she would have had some defensive wounds. Of course, she may have realized the attackers intentions at the exact moment the first blow hit. So no reaction opportunity.

Yes, I haven’t seen the Dr.’s report on the condition of the rest of her body, but I assume others have, and she was clean.
Have you seen the hatchet wound that supposedly was below the neck , between the shoulder blades?
If it’s really that low, it strikes me as possibly being the first, before the perpetrator has properly gotten the correct swing range.
Alternatively, Abby could have been unaware, with back turned, or fleeing her assailant.

The autopsy showed a single hit to the front that more sliced vs. crushed her flesh & head. Most think she was facing the attacker and this blow spun her around, and likely, to her knees. Remainder of the blows occurred at that point and to her backside.
There is a post mortem photo of the back of her head showing some of the strikes. Don't recall if it includes her shoulder. You can probably find the photo on this forum or google. If you don't have any luck, let me know and I'll find it.

Yes, I’ve seen that photo, but it doesn’t seem to show the lower blow. If it does, it isn’t as low as has been described.

I’m curious about the shoulder blade blow, because it was supposedly very deep, to the hilt.
