She was an amateur talk show host.... She liked to axe the tough questions...

Seriously--

She fed birds and squirrels, wrote letters and shopped. She traveled...

She also loved to read, and enjoyed the theater as well. I wonder if Lizzie ever went to the movies?

According to Lincoln, as an older woman, Lizzie loved to take chauffered rides in her car, as well... oh... and to shoplift.

I was just listening to that new C-D by that beautiful young Russian opera soprano and pictured Lizbeth relaxing in her sitting room listening to music like that on the gramaphone! Turned up really loud!

The 1920's must have been difficult for Lizzie. Ragtime, bobbed hair, Charlston. Her proclivity for manners and decorum, being proper, being a proper lady. She must have found much to be displeased with.

Yes! I gave her to Stef for Christmas. She likes all kinds of music.
Anna used to wash the floor of the Russian Opera House and now she is a star!!

Since Lizbeth liked the theatre and wasn't prudish about actors and actresses, maybe she wasn't so decorous after all.

She fished. Needed sinkers for fishing. If she was in the barn loft "getting lead for sinkers," and she got sinkers as seemed to be her nature to get the job done - why didn't she just say to the police "there are the sinkers on the floor where I dropped them when I discovered Father," or something of that nature. Maybe she was just on a 15 to 30 minute trip to the barn loft to "see" if there was lead for sinkers which she could get later.
She ironed handkerchiefs although she didn't know that the stove required wood to keep it hot - "oh heck I'll just go out and eat some pears and Bridget will fix the stove."
She sat in her room and went over details of a meeting she had coming up even though by her own testimony she would be fishing at the time of the meeting.
In interviewing their neighbors as to the rationality of the Borden family, one man said that they were "worse than crazy." I can find that quote if anyone is interested.

I think the "roll-call" was coming up on Sunday and the renewed Marion trip was set for Monday.
Hey I just realized that was the same day that supposedly Abby was expecting company. (We don't know for sure or who...).
The Bordens have a habit it seems of having friends visit while the other fueding person is gone!

Yes, as I remember it Abby was expecting visitors to stay in the guest room on Monday. That's why she "shut down" the room. As I recall the "roll call" was supposed to be on Monday as well - I could be wrong - I have limited resources now except for this excellent forum. I also recall that the "roll call" amounted to three people so I'm not sure how much time was really needed being anxious about it, and it wouldn't require a lot of going over.
