Dead Files Show
Did anyone else watch Dead Files on the Travel Channel last night? It may be the most dreadful program on Lizzie and the Bordens EVER!

Re: Dead Files Show
I just watched it on DVR.....
First of all-- and I am probably going to tick some people off-- I think LeeAnn Wilbur would go on Jerry Springer if she could... Show after show after show to drum up PR-- and does she have one bit of input? She'd almost have to-- yet she allows non factual stuff to be shared. It made it sound like she is the one who turned the house into a B&B to start with... But I digress...
Each time, she is there with that smug look on her face-- almost desperate to find some 'evidence' to keep the reservation book filled... Now-- is there a problem with that? I always thought it was heavily booked...
(Another digression)
Emma and Lizzie lovers?
That interview with Michael Martins had to be heavily edited-- it made him out to look barely informed of the case... And who in the hell is Frank? 'THE' definitive expert in the case? Really? Was it Faye Mussleman in reverse drag or something?
I was looking forward to the show and very disappointed in it.

Re: Dead Files Show
Funny, I wrote about this on Mondo before the show aired, sort of predicting it would be really bad. And it wasn't only BAD it was ROTTEN.
I am going out on a limb here and saying the show is a FRAUD.
Feel free to disagree. Here is my take: http://mondolizzie.com/MondoLizzie/
I must speak up a bit in defense of Lee Ann here. You can plainly see her incredulity at their "results." She looks stunned and disbelieving. Of course the psychic tells her she is just not ready to hear this. Pshaw!
One unsolicited word of advice to the Lizzie Borden B&B: demand that you get to see these things BEFORE they air so you can have some control over what happens. I think these shows must be dying to come and investigate. Force them to let you make sure they are legit!
I was embarrassed for the city with this one. It was such an obvious hoax. Bad for business I think. Not scary, not real, not for families to hear, and contrived.

I hate it when someone pees on my leg, than tries to tell me it's raining.
What a crock of crap.
The hosts on that show have no decency or respectability.
Bums and liars.
And what's with all these experts who have no last names. Frank???? Frank who? Did Frank really read all those books behind him?
Even poor Lee Ann appeared shell-shocked by what they came up with.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it a minus 10. And if I was a Borden, a lawsuit to booth, for defamation.
I am sure that if Michael Martins knew the contents of that program, he would never had consented to appear.

I am thinking that I didn't miss to much by missing the show. I love watching just about anything on Lizzie and the murders. It's fun to watch those shows and see how accurate they are. Most of the time, I can pick them a part because they have so many facts wrong.

Re: Dead Files Show
And the whole Lizzie being so mentally ill-- yet she only allegedly 'snapped' once?
I have watched nearly every epi of Dead Files-- and more often than not-- I feel like I am watching a cliche. The detective and his head cocking-- the medium and her odd voices and demeanor-- in some ways it reminds me of a traveling tent show...

The medium, with her saucer eyes and unpleasant facial grimaces, rather reminded me of Carol Burnett's parody of Norma Desmond in 'Sunset Boulevard.' Ugh. Burnett was hilarious; this woman was just ridiculous.

What got me was the woman on the ceiling and a lady growling and drooling. Now really.

Angel - didn't you know that all crazy ghosts seep through the ceiling and crawl up and down the walls? You need to get out more :)
i just loved how the psychic was so specific...names, ages, facts...
In defense of Lee-ann, i really don't think the show's producers etc give a shit what the client wants or thinks: this is 'entertainment' t.v. Not a doco. Even if lee-ann and the others wanted to veto parts, do you honestly think they (the show) would do it? i highly doubt it.
I thought it was pretty clear that Lee-ann didn't believe a word they said and actually, i thought she looked quite annoyed throughout most of the program.
Throughout all the recent paranormal teams/shows that have come through the house, i've noticed that no matter what facts Lee-ann or other experts tell the hosts or writers about the case or historical info about the town, it's guaranteed that most of the info will be dismissed in favour of a more 'juicy' narrative.
The upside to this show - i got to see the house again

Re: Dead Files Show
I did not even bother to watch the show. Because I have watched a few episodes and was thoroughly unimpressed. The show has almost a circus like atmosphere, in my opinion. And I do not like shows that promote inaccuracies as truth to an unsuspecting public. Most of the shows I have seen about the Borden case, many of them filmed at the Bed and Breakfast, have done just that. Not just promoted them, but were beating their drum like a band leader in a parade. I also have to say that it is not just the hosts of the show who were telling the fibs. I have seen shows where I wish I could correct the people who were giving the actual tours of the house as well. Some of them are a little less informed about the facts of the case than I'd like seeing as they represent it for public consumption on a day to day basis.

You are too kind Allen. So diplomatic, forgiving and tolarant in your description of such programs, as a lady should be, as all gentleman should be, as I should be. We live in a society where there are to many angry and hot tempered people, who say mean things off the cuff about the littlest of things.
I should take a lesson from your approach, be more kinder, tolerant. After all, as I've heard someone say once about such programing, lighten up, it's just entertainment.
So let me just add this.
When someone, like the bums on this program, poop in my yard and tell me it's my dog and waste my time while they do it, I really want to get behind the wheel of a Mack Trurck and run the bastar-s down. And if I did it on their program it would get better ratings.
No,no, your right. Must not get too excited. Calm down MBhenty, calm down. Have yourself a Ben and Jerry's. Life is beautiful.
Though you are correct with your approach.
Now, where are the keys to that #@&%@ truck.

Yes: OK, there he goes again, you are saying. (I know I say it to myself)
But this is the problem with this show. It's called fraud, deceit, playing the public for fools.
Now, understand. If these people really thought they saw what they say they did, you could just hold the opinion that they were just nuts, or a little over zealous about their findings.
But, no, what they did was steal, and make up a photo of Lizzie Borden through photo shopping....then claim that they found a never seen photo of Lizzie Borden as an old lady. If they had a disclaimer in the beginning of the program telling us that this was entertainment and not true, I could have a good laugh about it. But to actually claim they had a photo of Lizzie Borden, then alter a photo first seen in Parallel lives, is just about criminal. Especially when they signed a contract stating they would be ture to reporting their findings.....then turn around and fake a photo.
Someone should really sue them.
Below is the comparison made by Stefani on her Mondo site. You should go check it out on the Mondo site listed below at the bottom of this thread.
Until then, here are the two photos. The never seen photo of Lizzie from the book Parallel Lives, by Michael Marting and Dennis Binette, and the poorly done fake, fake, fake....
To us it is a clear fake. But to the general public who know little or nothing about the case, it's despicable.

Re: Dead Files Show
Oh - that is just terrible. I watched the show on 'On Demand', and I thought it was so fake. I must have not been looking or turned the channel, but I didn't see them showing the photo of Lizzie. Yeah, something should be done about them doing that. Thanks for posting those, mb. I haven't run across it yet in "Parallel Lives". Wow - the one from the book doesn't look like Lizzie, and the one the show did they made her look MORE like Lizzie.
I thought LeeAnn was just fine. Shocked, disappointed, sickened, pretty speechless after what those people said. That was about the only thing I never heard guessed at in the Borden case - the two sisters together. Those people looked fake all the way thru the show - and they were really bad actors. I think this show made themselves look cheap and bad. Like the comments on this thread, I'd think that most sensible people didn't blame the house or LeeAnn.
That guy sitting on THE sofa Andrew got murdered on? That isn't the same sofa. And it just looked dumb, him shaking his hand trying to say that someone from the Great Beyond was doing it.
I couldn't make out anything on their EVPs. It didn't sound like any words.
Publicity for LeeAnn? Well, good for her! She is half-owner of one of the most famous houses in the world, and people wanna see it. I think she has a public persona of grace. I'd be pretty proud if I were her, and I'm guessing she is. Heck, yeah, show it off - and keep the customers coming!
