Ironically, I had another window open waiting for this to load. It's an article from today's Honolulu Advertiser. There's an interesting article about the Ford Island complex. It opens with the recollection of an veteran who heard one of the first bomb blasts.

I was in Chamberlin's Natural Foods store and I was writing a check. When I realized the date, I started mentioning it aloud. The lady behind me in line told me about her father (he's 90) and the war. She's going to see him next week.
It was nice to meet a stranger and have a talk about a veteran.
