More 3D images of the Borden House
I added a few more 3D Borden House illustrations to my web site.
The address is in my profile, and you'll find them in the "Other Haunted Dimensions" section.

Wow!!! Thank you for sharing, Ray, what a wonderful early Christmas present! Where did you get the info on what the Buffington/Churchill house looked like? I don't think I've ever seen enough of it in any photos to get an idea. Oh, and just in case no one has told you today, you are one talented guy, great job!!!

Well, I know that few people (other than myself, and you, the LBS gang) would enjoy these!
And yes, the birdseye drawing of the neighborhood was a major reference for houses. I was also able to get tiny bits of detail from some of the photographs, where portions of the neighborhood could be seen in the backgrounds.
While staying at the house, I asked Ed about the sitting room windows, which look out on to the dark wall of the Leary building. He mentioned that he would like to see some sort of backlit duratrans placed over the windows, with a recreation of the side yard and neighboring house printed on them. (Of course news that the Leary might be going, would make such a project irrelevant) But it got me thinking about how to create an historically accurate re-creation of the side yard in 3D, and rendering a visually accurate view (from the vantage point of the sitting room). So that is why I decided to build the surrounding houses.
And I have to admit that another reason for this project, was to see if I could make any new discoveries about the case, based on the physical layouts of the rooms, house lot, and neighborhood.
Anyway, I'm glad you find it interesting!
Thanks!

3D Borden House
Doug,
My profession is "Media Designer" and "CGI artist". So, generally I will create or recreate, just about anything a client wants. My bread and butter comes from the creation of medical illustrations and animations, demonstrating medical procedures, and surgical technigues. And while those subjects are fairly interesting, I still find a need for a creative outlet which reflects my interests. My interest in the Lizzie case, along with my ability to build 3D scenes, made a great combination for a fun, "side" project. So to answer your question, some times I do things like this as a fun hobby, and sometimes I get paid to do it! I did the Lizzie stuff on my own time, for the heck of it. Ultimately, I hope to get PAID to create things which I think are FUN, all the time! It happens occasionally, but not nearly enough!
By the way, thanks for the nice things you wrote on my site's guestbook! And thank you to everybody here, for your interest in my Lizzie stuff! I'm really glad you enjoy it!
