Check This Picture?

Post by Kat »

I came across a wider view of the Borden house than the view we usually have seen on-line. This is a clip from the video, Histories Mysteries.
It looks like there are people congregating in the yard on the right of the house. I seem to see women in long white dresses and hats and maybe a gentleman. This looks like a summer photo because the tree is in full leaf.
Is this an optical illusion?
I don't wish to inbfluence what others think they see- so what's the opinion?

The far away view is from the web-site. The close-up is from the video.

Sorry, Kat. To me it just looks like some kind of plants growing up near the Kelly house. The light color showing through does look something like girls in white dresses, but I think it's an optical illusion.

I saved it to my computer and blew it up a few sizes so I can get a better view. To me it looked like a fence of some sort, with plants possibly growing like FairhavenGuy said.

Maybe Emma & Lizzie did have a lawn party just one season?

Kat...I just thought of something. I was looking at my Lizzie Borden screensaver, and I noticed a picture of the Borden's side-yard. It's a view from the back of the side-yard towards Second Street. On the right-hand side of the screen there is one of the pear trees, but on the left-hand side the tree that is there appears to have some vines...or something growing up, or around it's trunk. It looks sorta white in the picture. Could this be what you are seeing in the wide shot view ?

Is this the view to which you refer?
Is this the white stuff on the left?

Yes...that's the one. Do you think that's what you are seeing on the wide-view ?

This is all happening on the south side, or Kelly side of the Borden front and side yard. There are fences of different heights and a building embedded as part of a fence, and all kinds of things over on that side which it could be I guess.
The bawn is on the other side. And no thank you Mrs. Lubinsky, I'd prefer a fruit popsicle.

The first picture posted where kat saw ladies I could see them too, with hats on, but then I dont think the proportions are correct. A really good enhanced image is needed. Maybe it's Phoebe Bowen telling the other lady to get her clock fixed.

I used my adobe photoshop to crop the picture and blow it up a bit. I also tried to sharpen the image some, but it was hard to get it any clearer than it was, so I gave up on that.

Audrey...

To me, that area looks like irregular pickets in the fence between the Kelly's yard and the Borden's. But, I can totally see the women in white dresses with hats.

I know I'm 8 months late but the 'ladies' look like fence boards. Either that or that lady on the left has no neck or has a very short head. The rim of her hat is too close to her shoulder.

Of course it could be Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan. Hey, there's a mystery case for us!

That's a nice shot of the Borden's side yard. I've never seen that before. What is that growing up the side of the Borden's house, between the first two windows, a vine of some sort? Nice grape arbor. The Photographer must have been standing near the wood pile.

 Well, they looked like ladies at first. Then when I made the picture bigger, they looked like - uh, not ladies. Statuary? A fence?

I think it is just the fence that we see and what look's like the rim of the lady's hat is just the horizontal rail that the fence boards are nailed to.

If you look at Kat's photo above of the side yard you will notice the fence is white (far left side). The "lady's" figure is also white and has no curves, just straight up and down like fence boards.

Actually they found him a few years ago when I had a particularly tricky wisdom tooth removed.
