A few weeks ago I sent in an application to the B+B (Lee-ann gave it to me during my second overnight stay). A couple days ago I saw her and her friend at my work, Stop and Shop. I was flabberghasted to see her, since I was in southern RI and she lives in Warwick. To make a long story short, I approached her and started talking to her (I think I freaked her out a little judging by the expression on her face).
She received my application and wants me to come in soon to start learning the tour routes! (daytime and evening)!!!! I e-mailed her a schedule ( hopefully it can be this coming week since I am off from school and have much more free time. I am still awaiting her e-mail.
I was so happy I got to talk to her. Whenever I start working there, it will be so intriguing to have hand on history at the borden house. Wish me luck!!!

thanks!! No, I will still keep my stop and shop (grocery store) job as my main "income". The B+B will be more of a 2 - 3 day a week summer job, and school vaca's.
I'm looking forward to it, and maybe like you all said even meeting you in the summer! Hope fully Lee-ann e-mails me back......
thanks again!

Anyway has anyone here read Rebello's "Past and Present"? If I asm going to work there, it seems like the ideal information surce. I remember Ed telling me he's read it many times, and that's where he formulates his theories from. I know (or I think I know) a good chunk of the history, but I really want to buy that book!! I am still awaiting an e-mail, or if I call her soon to find a time to go up there, maybe I can order the book.
Does anybody remember the name of the medicine Dr. Bowen gave to Abby to help her illness from the mutton broth? There's a box of it on display in the diningroom and parlor. It's in a green box, but I cannot remember the name of it. Does anyone here know?

It might be Garfield tea, but that was Andrew, as far as we know.

Q. Do you recollect what it was you prescribed for her? [Abby]
A. I told her to take some castor oil, and take it in a little port wine to take the taste off, and probably that would be all she would want.
______
What was given Andrew:

Q. The doctor had not given him any medicine that you know of?
A. No, sir; he took some medicine; it was not doctor's medicine; it was what we gave him.
Q. What was it?
A. We gave him castor oil first and then Garfield tea.
Q. When was that?
A. He took the castor oil some time Wednesday. I think some time Wednesday noon, and I think the tea Wednesday night; Mrs. Borden gave it to him. She went over to see the doctor.
--Andrew supposedly took castor oil on Wednesday noon, and that was probably why he didn't want a ride out to Swansea with Morse later that same afternoon.
